CREATHERM S45 FLOOR PANEL

The S45 Floor Panel is ideal for installing PEX hydronic tubing with considerable time savings. The finished floor panel is 2’ x 4’ x 2.8” thick and features a staggered snap-tight grid for optimal tubing spacing. On-center points exist every 3”. It can support the installation of 1/2”, 5/8” or 3/4” PEX tubing, and offers greater R Value due to its thickness.

How Radiant Energy Works

"What exactly is radiant energy?" Hold your hand over a hot cup of coffee and feel the heat. The logical conclusion is that heat rises. Logical maybe, but incorrect! "Hot air" rises but "heat" can travel in any direction. That is why you can feel the heat of the cup when you place your hand to the side of it. Radiant energy transfer is caused by a warm surface giving up its heat to a cooler surface.

Whenever there is a temperature difference between two surfaces, both surfaces will attempt to equalize. Radiant energy travels through space without heating the space itself. It only turns into heat when it contacts a cooler surface. Our human comfort relies just as much on radiant heat transfer as it does on air temperature, yet the majority of heating and air-conditioning professionals think only in terms of air temperature. As a result, Americans are missing out on a truly comfortable living environment in their own homes or places of business. By controlling both the air temperature and the radiant transfer, radiant panel systems deliver a comfort that is unsurpassed.

Shotcrete Plus Montana, to Distribute Creatherm Foam Building Products in Montana

For Immediate Release

Shotcrete Plus Montana, to Distribute Creatherm Foam Building Products in Montana.

Absarokee, MT – June 2008 – Creatherm is pleased to announce that Shotcrete Plus Montana, will be the first distributor of the manufacturer’s foam building products in Montana. Shotcrete Plus Montana will distribute both the S20 and S45 Radiant Floor Panels which are ideal for installing PEX hydronic tubing with considerable time savings.

The S45 floor panel is 2’ x 4’ x 2.8” thick and features a staggered snap-tight grid for optimal tubing spacing. On-center points exist every three inches. The S45 Floor Panel can support the installation of ½”, 5/8” or 3/4” PEX Tubing. This newer panel does not support installing tubing at 45 degree angles but offers greater “R” Value due to its thickness. This makes the product ideal for colder climates or new construction.

Creatherm Radiant floor panels are now manufactured out of BASF Styropor® EPS. Styropor® an expandable polystyrene (EPS) was invented by BASF in 1952 and today is a classic among the raw materials employed for cost-effective construction, as well as efficient and reliable packaging. The most important properties of Styropor® EPS include: excellent thermal insulation capacity, high compressive strength, outstanding impact absorption, low weight, and flexible design capabilities. The foam panels are also quiet, resistant to insects and mold, and virtually allergen free.

Headquarted in Whitestown, Ind., a northwest suburb of Indianapolis, Creatherm offers expanded polystyrene foam products to the building industry. Building on a design alliance with Createc Corporation, manufacturers of ICF panels, Creatherm's Radiant Floor Panels were their first product to reach market. Creatherm is a proud member of the Radiant Panel Association.

BASF's Styropor EPS Used in Innovative Application for Radiant Heating Industry

Until now, installing radiant heating has been a time consuming and labor intensive process for contractors. Home and building owners benefit from radiant heating because it is a clean, comfortable and energy efficient solution. Creatherm™ radiant floor panels, manufactured by Createc Corporation out of BASF Styropor® EPS, offer contractors an innovative foam installation process that saves time and money.

As with Insulating Concrete Forms (ICFs), Creatherm™ radiant floor panels are easily installed. Interlocking panels help reduce labor costs and improve installation efficiencies by allowing for precise tube layout that eliminates the need to tie, clip, staple, or screw the PEX [cross-linked polyethylene] tubing to the substrate.

Styropor®, an expandable polystyrene (EPS) was invented by BASF in 1952 and today is a classic among the raw materials employed for cost-effective construction, as well as efficient and reliable packaging.
