IndyGo plans to buy six new hybird vehicles for its transportation superivisors. The Ford Hybird Escapes, will replace six minivans, get an estimated 34 miles per gallon in the city. The vans average about 15 miles per gallon.
In addition, IndyGo plans to introduce a Segway to its supervisory fleet for use in the downtown square. Funding for the Escapes and Segway comes from federal grants requiring a 20-percent local match.
Total cost of the vehicles is about $175,000.00
